In Kerala, marriage is an important event in any person’s life. We can spend the ending of our life would be decided by the selection of our good life partner. Hindu weddings are bright and more rituals there wedding.
Hindu religions have categorized different castes and different cultures. Each community includes its particular rituals when it comes to the matter of the wedding. In Hindus, weddings are conducted on two days one day for the reception. These days invite their friends and relatives.The second day is conducted for marriage.

When a marriage is going to decide between two families. The following rituals are listed below.

Betrothal

In Kerala weddings, engagement is a different ceremony. In Indian heritage and culture, the Ezhava community conducts the rituals of ring exchange as a sign of mutual understanding between bride and groom family. This ring exchange ceremony is known as Betrothal or Nichayathartham. In this event, Lord Ganesha is praised along with the exchange of rings.

Reception is conducted for their friends and relatives. On this day the bride and groom wear party wear dress. Buffet is arranged for inviters in the wedding. Wedding photographers all are ready to take their photos. Songs and dance are conducted at night.



Kanyadhaanam and Sapthapathi
The next step of a wedding is Kanyadhaanam in which the bride's father takes her daughter on his lap and places her hand his daughter on the groom's hand. This ritual is the most important bond between a father and a daughter.

Both the bride and groom roam ties their hand around the fire followed by the holy chants of a pandit. The fire is supposed to be the Agnidev who is believed to be the witness of the entire wedding. With this step, the wedding gets completed.

After the completion of marriage, both the families of a bride and groom meet each other to make an intense bond between them. This ritual is known as Nalangu. In this ritual both the families meet each other, take food together.

Gruhapravesam

After all rituals successfully, the bride enters the house of a groom along with the blessings of older relatives and gets their blessings to start a new life. This ritual is called Gruhapravesam. Entering the bride into a new house is an important role as a bride is going to start a new life in a house that she is less aware of. With this step, the bride gets the blessings of the older relatives and starts a new journey.
